This is the first in a series I am developing for my middle school choir to practice sight reading with solfege. It uses simple rhythms: only quarter, half and whole notes and rests, so that students can focus on the solfege only. Treble and bass clefs have the same melody. This page presents exercises in D, Eb and F major, which are the easiest keys for my changing-voice boys to sing in. When the key changes, the new "do" is given.
This is a stand-alone sight reading practice sheet, but I intend to make a series with each adding a step of the scale and more complex rhythms and different keys.
