This is a take on the classic card game WAR.
Children will use the various note symbols and rest symbols and then play the game WAR. The child with the symbol that has the longer note or rest value wins the hand.
Print the cards out on cardstock and cut them for use.
The game promotes quick thinking about the value of notes.
The standards in the directions are the US - National Core Arts Standards published by NafME during the summer of 2014. I linked to PK-3 as those are the classes that I primarily see, but the game would also work for older children.
