Product Description
Trash or Treasure note taking helps students determine the most important words to write down during research. Too often they are copying all the words instead of really understanding the research question, and writing down the most important facts. This packet will guide you through direct instruction, guided practice, and independent practice. As your students begin to conduct short research projects, referring to the Trash or Treasure words really helps them. Students will also get better at paraphrasing their notes and avoiding plagiarism.

Trash or Treasure Part 2 has a PET theme. One of the most popular sections of a school library is the section about pets, which is why I designed this packet around such a fun, motivating topic!
