I give a weekly note-taking/listening ESL lesson where the students listen to a lecture and have to take notes after reading a worksheet that I distribute at the beginning of class.
This particular topic is on trust that's needed to run an "airbed bed & breakfast" business. The title of the talk is on the worksheet and the video can easily be found on the TED website (or even on YouTube). Students can listen to the clip either once or twice depending on their level. There is also a transcript on the TED site itself that the teacher can preview prior to the lesson and figure out the answers (but the answers can be easily heard during the playing of the video).
My students love this exercise and that's why I'm sharing it here. Hope your ESL students will find it useful too.
*Note: You will require the Internet to access the video file on the TED site. However, you can download the video beforehand prior to the lesson if you do not have Internet access at school/in your classroom.
