One thing I have learned from implementing the notebooking strategy with my special education students is that each page must be well-planned and clearly presented. This product allows teachers to think through exactly what there expectations are and create a model page for display on a projector or smart board. Also, for those of us who have to turn in our lesson plans, it is important that our principals see the intentional planning behind each page and that what the students are doing is more than just cutting and coloring. Also included are student guidelines and a grading rubric to be used with each unit. Students will learn how to plan, space, and communicate their ideas in a way that makes their notebooks an expression of themselves and their growth as learners. They will learn to create something they can be proud of.
