These cards are fun, effective incentives to help motivate your young students into keeping their desks or cubbies organized throughout the year!
In our classroom, the Desk Fairies visit on random evenings throughout the school year when the entire school is empty. Their job is to peek inside all of the desks in our classroom to see which ones are the cleanest. The next morning, 1-3 kids are delighted to open up their desks and see that the Desk Fairy has left them a special note and a treat! Treats may be small edible goodies, such as a Starburst, or items like a small eraser, scratch-n-sniff sticker, or pencil topper.
I have created both black and white and color notes from the Desk Fairies, and modified it for classrooms that have cubbies instead (Cubby Fairies!). I usually copy mine onto cardstock so it feels more like a "business card," (which is what I tell my students it is kind of like if they ever wonder why it's typed).
For an added detail/excitement factor, I also sprinkle just a pinch of glitter on the desktops and around the cards/treats of the students who were rewarded by the Desk Fairy. I make sure it doesn't look like any of the glitter we use in our classroom, and the extra fine glitter that you can get at any craft stores (Michaels, JoAnn, Hobby Lobby) works like a charm. The kids get just as excited about the "fairy dust" as they do the prize!
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for checking out my TPT store!
