So you read and loved Beers and Probst Notice and Note? Well, I did too! It is packed full of useful and life-changing ideas and strategies. There was so much information that I knew I wanted to have readily available as I was teaching the signposts to my students, so I created this Notice and Note Fiction Guide. It includes handy reference sheets for the Generalized Language, Gradual Release, Steps to Student-Created Text Dependent Questions, Extended Thinking options, as well as, graphic organizers for the mini-lessons for both teachers and students! I also created interactive notes for students to take upon initial teaching of the signposts AND the signpost + Anchor Questions for a display/bulletin board. Please see the Contents pages in the preview for a complete breakdown of this product.
Upon dabbling in this last year, I realized that it was hard to grade and score, so I created a rubric based on the "Assessment" chapter in the book. This rubric could be used for discussions and students' logs. Please see my product for "Notice and Note Assessment Rubric and Tracker" for added resources on tracking and having students self-assess.
This is my biggest product as of yet, and I cannot wait to get back into the classroom and use. I sincerely hope you find it just as beneficial and useful. If you see any mistakes or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
