This is the second resource collection in my diagramming-focused sequence of grammar mini-units that I've used in a 7th Grade English Language Arts class. I still see a lot of merit in teaching students to understand the grammatical function of each word in a sentence, which is what diagramming is all about! It's such a crucial building block for growing writers, as they learn to avoid errors and write with style and voice.
This collection of resources contains materials I've used to teach students to identify and diagram noun complements: direct objects, indirect objects, and predicate nouns/nominatives. Building on my first mini-unit, students are asked to identify and demonstrate understanding of only the subject, verb, and noun complements in sentences.

And while this mini-unit was designed for Middle School, I think it could easily be used or adapted for younger or older students!
