Sheriff Spinner introduces his nine noun deputies, whose charming personalities make them perfectly suited for their jobs as subject nouns, predicate nouns, indirect objects, direct objects, objects of the preposition, possessive noun adjectives, object complement nouns, and appositives. Clever puns and memory hooks are all playfully revealed on the teacher's key, which accompanies each one of these adorable characters (20 pages!). Captivate your students with these vibrantly colored Power Point slides, print them for bulletin board displays, or cut them out and have students match the characters with their quotes! These darling deputies have enough charisma to enhance any language arts/grammar curriculum.
Craft Idea: My students love recreating the characters for their own notebooks!
1. Cut 3-4" wide oval (body) and 1-2" inch circle (head) out of construction paper,
2. Glue on notebook paper,
3. Use markers to draw legs,
4. Add character defining embellishments, and
5. Write the character's name and job at the top.
