This activity has students decide if an individual word is a noun or not a noun. Used Individually, in pairs, or small groups, students will cut out the words and sort them into two different categories: a noun or not a noun.
Alternatives and Extensions:
You could precut and laminate for repeated use in a center and/or for multiple use.
Have students to write down the words on the columns instead of cut.
Extend: Have students find words throughout the classroom, in books, or magazines and write or cut the words out and sort into the two categories.
Can be used as part of an overall lesson on nouns, pre assessment/post assessment, center activity, test prep, or wherever you feel it will benefit your
