This download contains an adapted book, picture vocabulary cards for receptive/ expressive identification, and a data sheet to track date introduced and date mastered for 21 different verb-noun, noun-verb combinations pulled from the VB-MAPP and ABLLS assessments.
Examples of a verb-noun/ noun-verb combination include: boy swimming, girl running, drinking milk, driving car etc.
This resource can be used for both expressive and receptive learners. To assess expressive learners, present one picture vocabulary card at a time and ask, "what's happening?" The student is to label two components of the picture (ex: "woman cooking"). For receptive learners, present vocabulary cards in a field of 3 or more pictures. Say give me... and two components featured on the target picture (ex: "give me washing dishes"). The adapted book will help students master these concepts while also promoting reading comprehension and word identification.
