This unit describes possessive nouns as words that tell who or what owns something. In a singular noun, add an apostrophe and "s" (dog/dog's ball). In plural nouns, add an apostrophe to a word that ends in "s" (dogs/dogs' dishes) or add an apostrophe and "s" to irregular plural nouns that do not end in "s" (women/women's hats).
