This bundle includes material to help you teach a unit on nouns. Included are the following files:
.A Noun Poem I use this to introduce what a noun is and have included a poetry follow up activity. My students cut the two apart and glue the poem into the poetry journal and illustrate beside it for meaning. The follow up requires them to read the poem multiple times in order to answer the questions.
.A Bubble Map Noun Sort Students cut word cards and place onto the graphic organizer. They sort into categories: people, places, things. Included are some words that do not belong on the bubble map because they are not nouns.
.A Proper Noun Sort Students cut, sort and glue words into the common noun or proper noun categories. They rewrite the proper nouns with capital letters. Included are some words that are not nouns.
.A Scoot Activity I cut and place scoot cards around the room. Students are partnered and given a recording sheet. They start at one of the card stations and work on answering the question and marking it on the recording sheet. After a few minutes I call out “SCOOT” and they move to the next one. We check our answers together afterwards.
