This game contains 37 cards related to common nouns, proper nouns, and pronouns. This is a great activity if you are looking for an opportunity to engage your entire class! It is a handy formative assessment tool because you can get a quick idea of which students most likely understand the concept, and which students probably need additional practice.
For each sentence, there is one common noun answer card, one proper noun answer card, and one pronoun answer card. Therefore, kids have to listen carefully, and they have to be able to differentiate between common nouns, proper nouns, and pronouns.
For example, one card asks "Who has the common noun in the sentence 'We will visit your cousin in California.'?" and the answer is "I have 'cousin.' "
Another card asks, "Who has the proper noun in the sentence 'We will visit your cousin in California.'?" and the answer is "I have 'California.' "
A third card asks, "Who has the pronoun in the sentence 'We will visit your cousin in California.'?" and the answer is "I have 'we.' "
These cards always take a few extra minutes to get through the first time. I always time my students, and then let them go through them a second and possibly third time to try to beat their record!
This product also contains an answer key (so the teacher can follow along easily) and teacher directions.
