This is a grammar activity that combines reading practice for students in grades 4-8. This resource includes noun types such as possessive nouns, singular and plural nouns, even common and proper nouns.
Students can use this activity with a partner, small group or individually. This can also be a useful activity for literacy centers.
Teachers can feel free to use this noun resource for review after a unit on nouns, prepare it for a lesson plan with a substitute teacher or as a homework assignment that will combine reading and grammar close reading skills. This can even be useful for assessments.
Begin the activity with a review on each type of noun. Allow students to choose a reading source--leveled books, class magazines, library books, etc. and watch the wonder begin as they use close reading skills to locate the various types of nouns within their chosen reading activity.
