A noun is a word that names a person, place or thing. A noun may appear in any part of a sentence. (Blue Cards)
Singular and Plural Nouns
A singular noun names one person, place, or thing.
A plural noun names more than one person, place or thing.
Rules for Changing Singular Nouns to Plural Nouns
Add –s to most plural nouns.
Add –es to nouns ending in s, x, ch, sh, ss, or z.
If a noun ends in a consonant + y, change the y to an I and add –es.
If a noun ends in a vowel + y, add-s.
Irregular Plural Nouns
Some nouns that end in f change the f to a v and add –es.
Some nouns are made plural by changing the vowels, changing the word, or adding a different ending;
Some irregular plural nouns have the same spelling as the singular form.
Having numbers on separate cards gives you the versatility to combine the questions into an order that works best for your class.
