"Scary Good Writing: A Visit to Grammar's House with Mr. Butt and Bonefish" is my fourth course in the "Scary Good Writing" series. Developed to grab the attention of even the most reluctant writers in your class. They may even ask you to do the lessons!
Students take a trip with Bonefish and Mr. Butt to the home of Prof. Kell C. Grammar where they learn the eight parts of speech and how they work to communicate clearly and effectively. This course is chocked full of simplified explanations and useful examples that make it easy for students to grasp the writing concepts and the proper way to use them.
Nouns: Different kinds of nouns and how to use them.
Pronouns: The proper use of pronouns including when to use the perplexing me and I.
Adjectives: how to use description with a purpose.
Verbs: The different kinds of verbs and using them to write with active voice.
Verb Tenses: Time to learn about time travel in your writing.
Interjections: Spice up a sentence.
Conjunctions: The whys and ways we connect thoughts in writing.
Adverbs: When and when not to use them
Prepositions: Breaks down the prepositional phrase into easy-to- digest chunks.
"Scary Good Writing: A Visit to Grammar's House with Mr. Butt and Bonefish" covers a wide range of Common Core standards for language from 3rd to 6th grade. Since the eight parts of speech standards are progressive, third graders are not required to understand the use of prepositions or interjections so I'm reducing the price of the course to just $12. That way, you pay a fair price for the lessons you use and get extra lessons for your advanced students to try. The course includes downloadable lessons and lesson reviews.
