This unit was developed to make learning about nouns, verbs and adjectives an interactive experience for your students. The objective of this unit is for your students to be able to identify a noun, verb or adjective (in your school) correctly based on the group they are assigned.
For example, at school you can find the principal as a noun, walk as a verb, and lunchroom as a place. Once they identify one you can take a picture with the students holding up their “pow” stick. Once all the students have taken a picture you can make a classroom book containing all their nouns, verbs, and adjectives. What great fun!
The unit has tons of materials and lessons to make this learning fun. Here is a breakdown of the materials you will find in the first lesson:
1. Definition Posters for Noun, verb and adjective.
2. Brainstorming webs to get the lesson going.
3. Team necklaces
4. Activity recording sheets
5. Noun, verb and adjective “pow” sticks
6. Class recording sheet
7. Class book pages
There is a second lesson that has your students describe each other using nouns, verbs, and adjectives. This is great because they learn how to describe someone by interviewing their buddy. You will have brainstorming sheets, a buddy describing list as well as a recording sheet where they draw a picture of their buddy using the words they have listed. This is sure to get your students identifying nouns, verbs, and adjectives!
I hope you enjoy everything this unit is offering! Thank you for taking a look!
