A great graphic organizer for students of all grades levels to complete after reading the first chapter, scene, or act of a novel or play. This can be completed individually, in pairs, or in small groups.
Students will record their findings about conflict, character, and setting, and will evaluate the first chapter's, scene's, or act's overall effectiveness by recording how interest has been created (e.g. major events and questions they have about what will happen next).
Included in the zipped file is a separate printout for Chapter, Scene, and Act, so you have what you need no matter what text you're evaluating. As an added bonus, a Smart Board file is included if you would like to compile as a class or would like to make the activity more interactive.
