Novel Project: ANY piece of literature can be wrapped up with this foldable/pop-up final literature project. Your students will show their understanding of CHARACTER, SETTING, PLOT, THEME, and MOOD and how they work together in any piece of literature. Your students will also show their ability to pick out CONTEXT CLUES in order to define new VOCABULARY. They will also research and write a short INFORMATIONAL TEXT to help build background knowledge for something of interest in their story. All of these pages will be created and compiled in a foldable/pop-up book fashion. Directions are included as well as station cards you can use to organize the building of the pages. RUBRICS for each page are also included which will allow you to give individual grades for each part of the assignment as well as a final project grade for the whole thing.
Use this after the whole class has read a book or as small literature circles complete their readings. It can easily be adapted for your needs.
