Choice boards can be used for in-class assignments and seat work, assessments, or extension activities on a topic or novel that you are discussing with your students. Students enjoy the “choice” aspect and teachers are able to see the variety of information (and interests!) kiddos have picked up from what is being taught and covered.
These boards are already differentiated based on interest and most students will choose what is in their ability ranges. Students have to have assignments approved by the teacher, so a teacher can also guide students to choose what is in their ability, as well.
