Students use a menu format to choose the assignment they wish to complete after reading a novel. Choices are offered in appetizers, salad, entree, and desserts. An example: Mapping Meatballs
Make a map showing where your characters traveled. Use your social studies book, an atlas or your imagination to help you. Make sure to include a map key, scale, and compass rose. This format allows you to easily differentiate and provide student choice. Your advanced learners could do every category while other students might just choose an appetizer and a salad.
