This checklist is a list of 11 different technology integrated activities for students to work on independently or with a partner. When doing a novel study with your class over one book or multiple books, it is sometimes important to have students doing independent or partner activities so that you can work with another group.
The activities on this checklist are wonderful and engaging activities for students to utilize technology in a structured yet creative way. They can be adjusted to any novel study you are doing with your class. Most activities simply require a computer. Some are utilizing apps on an ipad or ipod touch. However, all activities can be adjusted to use a computer program or simply pencil and paper.
Activities give students practice doing the following:
- Character traits
- Comparing and contrasting characters
- Describing characters personalities
- Determining main events
- Describing how characters are important to the overall plot
- Cause and effect
- How a character changes throughout the book
- Creating a timeline to show important events
- Reader's theatre scripts
I hope you and your students enjoy these activities! Please remember to leave me feedback!
