I developed this 75 question (multiple choice) test for my PRE-AP 7th graders to go along with SpringBoard (Level 2) and the novel, Tangerine by Edward Bloor. It incorporates thinking about the novel, Literary terminology, literary elements, and the following grammar topics:
• Subordinate Clauses
• Strong verbs
• Correlative conjunctions
• Active and Passive verb sentences
• Subject/verb agreement
• Analogies (Whole to Part)
This test is both rigorous and an excellent indicator of weaknesses on our state standardized test.(STAAR) It will be best utilized best if you are teaching with SpringBoard, but it can easily be used to assess many skills if you are teaching the novel, Tangerine by Edward Bloor on its own.
With 75 questions, this assessment may need to be taken as two different tests. (A Grammar Test and a Literature Test) It might also be utilized as a generous question bank for your own use if you find some of the material too rigorous for your students.
**I probably should have put it in as two separate tests so you are getting a good deal. :-),
