Full unit of work for novel study, focus on the book ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. This unit of work was used for year 7 students, but can be adapted to suit different year levels.
What the unit contains:
Novel study tasks for students to complete while analyzing the novel (plot, setting, character, theme etc)
Information/Lesson resources for teachers- booklet
Booklet option for students to do while completing novel study, with a range of activities and supporting information.
Option for literature circles (all set up and ready to go), including clear job roles, groups of 4, specific tasks to do.
Scrapbook assessment task- a series of activities presented in a scrapbook, showing analysis on the novel. Targeted tasks to suit different learning styles. With rubric.
Reading comprehension rubric to asses all activities (rubric correlated to ausvels- Australian curriculum).
Unit designed to engage a range of different learners and include different analysis options for students.
