This is part of a series of reading comprehension activities for students to complete daily. Each page provides information in clear language about a significant historical event that happened on that day in history. Each passage is followed by three comprehension based questions. As a fourth grade teacher I find I struggle to find time to teach my students Social Studies. While these are by no means a replacement for core Social Studies instruction, they offer a great opportunity for students to pad their historical knowledge and practice reading comprehension skills. I use them first thing in the morning so the kiddos have something to do while I'm running around taking roll, collecting papers, and such. Any way I hope you like them!
