This packet contains a word work literacy menu with 9 activities for the month of November. Many centers have more than one option for differentiating instruction. These centers are common core aligned specifically for Kindergarten, but may be used for Prekindergarten and/or struggling First Graders. The activities on the menu can be used as literacy centers, early finisher activities, or in small groups.
Magic Board: Use a magic board to practice writing letters., sight words, spelling words, etc.
Read It, Make It, Write It: Students will practice reading and writing short o word family words—og, op, and ot. Depending upon the readiness of your students CVCC words are included.
Friendly Words: Practice writing spelling words, sight words, etc. Write two words that share a letter so they are touching.
Fall Read the Room
Sounds of Fall: Match the apple pictures to the correct ending sound.
Roll, Say, Keep: Cut out cards featuring the desired skill. Place 6 cards face down on the template. Place the remaining cards in a pile on the side. Roll the die and turn over the card on that space. If correct, the student keeps the card and replaces that card with a card from the pile.
ABC Pattern: Practice writing spelling words, sight words, etc. in an ABC pattern.
Whisper Words: Practice spelling words into a whisper phone.
I Spy Thanksgiving: There are two options to choose from. Use a magnifying glass to find the hidden words/letters in the picture.
