Product Description
Includes 22 pages of daily math and language arts morning work review activities for first graders, in a simple format that encourages independent work. This product could also be used for homework.

Included on each page:
- Student name
- Calendar (Write the month, day, year, and identify the day of the week)
- Number of the Day (Write numeral, write tens and ones, color base ten blocks to represent)

Week 1:
- Solve subtraction story problems (pictorial representation and symbols provided)
- Solve basic math facts (-0 and –1)
- Read and write words in the –ip word family (CVC words with some initial blends and/or digraphs)
- Edit a sentence for capitalization and punctuation

Week 2:
- Solve subtraction story problems (pictorial representation and symbols provided)
- Solve basic math facts (+/-2)
- Read and write words in the –in word family (CVC words with some initial blends and/or digraphs)
- Edit a sentence for capitalization and punctuation

Week 3:
- Solve addition story problem (pictorial representation and symbols provided)
- Count, tally, and create a picture or bar graph
- Solve basic math facts (mixed addition, sums to 10)
- Read and write words in the –ug word family (CVC words with some initial blends and/or digraphs)
- Edit a sentence for capitalization, punctuation, and missing word

Week 4:
- Solve subtraction story problem (pictorial representation and symbols provided)
- Count, tally, and create a picture or bar graph
- Solve basic math facts (mixed subtraction, within 10)
- Read and write short u CVC words
- Edit a sentence for capitalization, punctuation, and missing word

2 Extra Days:
- Write the missing part in a number bond, and show the parts on a ten frame
- Solve basic math facts (mixed subtraction, within 10)
- Edit a sentence for capitalization, punctuation, and missing word

Once students learn the activities, they can complete them independently in about 5-10 minutes each day. Morning work can be checked whole-group in less than 5 minutes. Number of the day is provided by the teacher (I use the number of days of school and write it on the board), or it can be differentiated. These activities could also be used as homework.
