Morning work has become a favorite part of my day! It is a consistent way to start my classroom morning routine. Students come in, unpack, and begin their work right away. I view this 10 to 15 minute period as a chance for students to decompress and get ready for the day. It also gives me a few minutes in the morning to check for notes, complete attendance, and finish any last minute prep. The work is not meant to be challenging or teach things I have not taught. The purpose of morning work is to help students get their days started and to become a part of classroom routines.
