Celebrate the autumn season with five autumn poems in this hands-on and engaging 5-day poetry analysis unit. Each autumn poem is accompanied by a 5-page interactive flip book that helps students deeply understand the poem. As students progress through the analysis tasks on each page of their flip books they not only dive deeper into the text, but they also develop an appreciation for closely reading poetry. Myth Writing Unit – 8 Days and 36 pages
In this eight day, CCSS-aligned Myth Writing Unit, students will demonstrate an understanding of the myth genre as they write their own myths. The unit begins with a review of the characteristics of myths and student analysis of a sample myth. Then, following a step-by-step process that includes pre-writing, writing, revising, editing, conferencing, and then writing a final copy, students will write an original and creative myth. In this unit students create a myth that creatively presents an explanation of an unknown. In addition, students’ myths will be filled with genre characteristics as well as strong voice and word choice.

This unit is a perfect addition to a myth study unit, an Ancient Greece unit, or as a stand-alone writing unit.

Thanksgiving Learning Centers -1 Day – 58 pages
This Thanksgiving Centers resource contains activities and lessons for 5 learning centers. Each center is designed to give students engaging and exciting learning experiences to practice, enrich, reteach, and enhance their learning. Working independently and with their small groups, student will have the opportunity to develop multiple reading comprehension skills.

20 Daily Warm-Ups -everyday – 57 pages

Starting each class with a warm up has been a huge success in my classroom...and my students love these This or That Warm Up activities!

This resource includes 20 This or That Warm Ups with a total of 40 activities that review critical ELA skills. Each This or That Warm Up includes instruction (at the top of the worksheet) and then 2 choices for students to showcase their learning. After reviewing each choice, students can choose to do the “This” activity or the “That” activity. The choices promote engagement and tap into multiple learning styles. All 20 of the This or That Warm Ups can be taught sequentially or used throughout the year. The warm ups are an awesome way to start each class. They typically take between 5-10 minutes, and often lead to great mini-lessons and discussions.
