This is a great exercise I have my students do. The first part is a simple concept map. I do not give key words to students, instead they must use their book to find key words that only apply To DNA and RNA. The second part is a Ven Diagram in which students must repeat the features that are unique to DNA and RNA, but must also include similar features. On the back, students practice creating mRNA strands using three different sections of DNA strands. The last part is a diagram of RNA synthesis that students must explain.
