This document contains a placemat for your students to use when learning about number bonds and their connection to addition and subtraction equations. I like to place the number bond place-mats in a sheet protector and use in small groups. Also attached is target practice for numbers 4-10. Students are given a set of two sided counts in a cup (based on the target number). Student spill the counters onto their desk and complete the number bond. For example if the target is 4 and the student spills 3 yellow and 1 red counter, they would fill in 3 and 1 as the parts that make up 4. They continue to fill the cup and spill until the sheet is complete. This is great as an independent center to help students master addition within 10.
