This UNO game is aligned to Common Core and will be a perfect addition to your math centers! Once students are taught how to play, they will be able to play independently! The game is played with regular UNO rules, with two adjustments:
1) Instead of numbers, each card has a number bond with a number missing. There is a number bond for 2-10 for each set, along with skip, reverse, draw two, and wild cards. Not all number bonds are represented.
2) Instead of four colors, there are four different shapes (triangle, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon) each shown in three different ways (with a change in orientation or size).
In order to play a card, students must match either the missing number or the shape to the top card on the discard pile. The cards were intentionally created in black and white so that students would have to use mathematical reasoning to play their card.
This file includes game directions, 54 UNO cards, and an optional cover sheet. Please download the preview to get a look at the cards! The last page of the preview is the optional cover sheet that can be printed onto white cardstock to add a little color to the cards!
