Number bonds are a great way to help your students learn to compose and decompose numbers. This improves not only their number sense and mental math skills, but also helps them to master their addition and subtraction facts The number bonds in this resource focus on the numbers to 20. The activities, puzzles and games can be incorporated into whole group instruction, small group instruction or even made into a math center! This resource includes:
20 Number Bond Flashcards – These cards can be used as daily reinforcement in a math meeting or as a center activity. To use these cards, just print them on cardstock and laminate. Each card is numbered and an answer key is included making them great for use in a center.
Number Bond Matching Puzzles - Students get instant reinforcement with these self checking puzzles.
Number Bond Printables – Assess your students understanding of number bonds using these two worksheets. Great for morning work, classwork, or homework!
Word Problem Activity Cards – I have my students work in small groups on this activity. They use the number bond provided to create their own word problems. This is a great way for them to show their creativity and you can informally assess their understanding of number bonds and basic facts. I included a couple of blank cards so that you can fill in, so that your students can focus on the facts that they are struggling with the most.
Word Problem Printables – Assess your students understanding with these printable worksheets. The students solve the word problem and draw a number bond to show their math thinking.
Number Bond Bingo – This BINGO game includes 32 student cards with 42 flashcards. A fun way to reinforce number bonds and mental math strategies.
