Greetings teacher phrens,
Here's the activity you've been waiting for if you want your students to become more flexible and fluent with non-routine number facts and combinations using MENTAL MATH STRATEGIES; Schools o' Fish challenges students to take 15 different numbers and arrange them in groups so that they add up to the same number (at least, in this version.)
• EZ Cut n' Paste Technology: the pieces have been arranged in such a way that your students can cut out all 15 in about 3 - 4 minutes, which means they can use the rest of the time to actually DO MATH!
• Fully Differentiated: There's puzzles for every level, with 12+ puzzles starting from 10 going all the way to 100.
• Open Sourced: You can (and you should) have students make puzzles of their own to share with others in the class, as well as with me! Send me the puzzles your students have created and I'll turn them into polished puzzles with their names in the credits.
• Teaching hints.
• Answer sheet (although there are several answers possible with these puzzles)
