Description

Do your students have a concept of what 1,000 is?

You can display the numbers from 0 to 1,000 all in one unit. This helps the children understand the concept of 1,000, since they can see it clearly.

Recently updated! I've made this file more "brain compatible" by color coding each set of 100. That will help children's brains notice that 1,000 is made of 10 sets of 100.

It addresses these Common Core Standards: CCSS 2.NBT.2 Count within 1000, skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s. AND 2.NBT.3 Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form.

See this blog post for more ideas on how to use this number grid.
