Product Description
This game is a great way to have students explore number lines and build number sense.

1st Grade: 1.NBT.1 Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120
and
2nd Grade: 2.NBT.2 Count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s.

Although this product can be used by any primary math classroom, it can also supplement the units provided by the state of Georgia.

Unit 1 for Georgia’s Second Grade is an excellent, free resource and can be found here: https://www.georgiastandards.org/Common-Core/Common%20Core%20Frameworks/CCGPS_Math_2_Unit1FrameworkSE.pdf

I have provided recording sheets depending on how students will generate their numbers or if students are playing by themselves or with a partner. Recording sheets are a great way for you to check for student understanding and to ensure that students are engaged in productive work while they are in centers.

Depending on your preference, students can use the spinner included in the Georgia unit or you can use the cards provided. (I find that the spinners work best when I tape them under a blank spinner which are included in many math kits rather than trying to make a spinner.)

I have included 2 sets of cards for differentiation as well as a blank set for you or your students to create your own. I have provided two number lines that are slightly larger than the ones provided in the Georgia unit that may be easier for students to use.

It is not designed to replace the Georgia units or take credit for those units. This product is designed to make Georgia’s units easier for you to implement in your classroom so that you are more likely to use the research and great resources which are contained within the units.
