I created this number word matching center/game for my students to practice matching a number in standard form to the number in word form. The numbers are 2 and 3 digit numbers in the tens and hundreds. There is a direction page that includes teacher directions and 2 different options for playing this game:
Teacher Directions: Print onto cardstock as many sets of this center as you would like. Laminate, then cut apart and mix up the cards.
Option 1: Pull out the Header Cards and make 2 columns— Number and Number Words, then take turns sorting and matching the cards.
Option 2: Pull out the Header Cards and do not use. Turn all cards over. Take turns trying to turn over a match. Whoever makes the most number and number word matches win!
I plan to use this as a math center for a small group to play during math centers/groups during my place value unit. Also, as an added practice, the students can record their matches in their math journal.
