This is a cuter version of the poster I use every day during our focused math lessons.
I simply printed it off on A3, laminated it so that I could write on it with my whiteboard markers, and I was set!
We use the date as our focus number each day. This helps differentiate for my kiddos- the start of the month with the lower numbers, and extending to the higher numbers for my more advanced guys.
We write our focus number, write its name, the number before, the number after, and then they help me count it out while we fill in the ten frames to show what it looks like.
I have this posted up on our learning focus wall and pull it down each day to update it.
Sometimes I print off an A4 copy for my kiddos to work on in math centres choosing their own numbers, and allowing them to use dice, dominoes, counters etc as well as ten frames to find new ways to show the numbers they are working on!
I have found this to be an amazing boost to their developing understandings of place value, and this is one of my classes favourite routine activities this year!
I hope you find this resource useful, and would love to hear from you!
I know the thumbnail has lines missing on the ten frames. I promise the ten frames print out beautifully. I'm not sure why they keep disappearing in the pictures!
