Make number patterns meaningful and engaging with this hands-on penguin math craft that helps students explore skip counting and pattern rules in a fun, visual way!

This winter-themed “mathtivity” invites students to create their own penguin while building and recording number patterns. As they construct their craft, students follow a rule (such as +2, +5 or -2) and represent their sequence, helping them connect abstract number patterns to a clear visual model.

With flexible template options, this activity is easy to adapt for different learners and works beautifully in math centers, small groups or as a creative whole-class lesson.
