This activity has differentiation built right in for your students. One section of the activity is for children who are skillful at patterning two digit numbers. The other section is for those students who have moved on to three digit numbers.
Make copies of the spinner provided, add a spinner, and make copies of the worksheets. Make copies of the number cards and cut them apart. Toss them in a container with the label to show if they are 2 or 3 digit numbers. It is just that easy to get the activity ready to use with your class.
This works great with small groups of students. One student spins the spinner and they all write the rule in the first box of the row on their worksheet. Then they each draw out their own beginning number and write it in the next box. (Students put the number back so it can be used again.) Then each student extends their own pattern according to the numbers on their own paper.
