This is a whole lesson on teaching Prime numbers, in particular, what they are and how to find them. The lesson activity is looking at the Eratosthenes Sieve and developing a deeper understanding of what primes are... it also includes some interesting real-life prime facts and lots of other great stuff. This then links to the next lesson on prime factor trees or decomposition.
This is aimed primarily at KS3 and comes as a four-part series that is available as a bundle/series at a reduced price (approx 30%) and I highly recommend this as a sequence of lessons.
This lesson contains a starter, lesson objectives, keywords, examples, using MWB's, questions with answers and plenary. It also comes with a tarsia matching activity and handout used within the lesson to find prime numbers. This is a detailed look at prime numbers because it is a concept/ lesson that pupils find difficult.
