This is a whole lesson on teaching Prime Factor Trees, in particular, what they are and how to find them. This links really well with my previous lesson looking at prime numbers. This is an excellent teaching lesson, with lots of very clear examples. It goes into much higher levels by looking at how to use prime factor decomposition to find the LCM and HCF of two or more numbers. It also shows how pupils could use sets or Venn diagrams to do the same thing.
This is aimed primarily at KS3 and KS4 and comes as a four-part series that is available as a bundle/series at a reduced price (20% to 30%).
This lesson contains a starter, lesson objectives, keywords, examples, using MWB's, questions with answers and plenary. It also comes with a some follow me cards and an additional worksheet, alongside the questions within the lesson. I often use the worksheet for consolidation, e.g. for HWK.
