This is a whole lesson introducing the topic of radicals. It goes into a lot of detail on what radicals are, and most importantly the difference between irrational and rational numbers. I have attached a worksheet that I got from TES originally, but I have changed/ adapted it to make harder examples for each section and thus to differentiate for the more able mathematicians. 15 slides + a matching activity too.
The lesson involves a starter, learning objectives, keywords (important), great teaching slides, very clear examples, worksheet with answers and plenary. This lesson comes as a four-lesson bundle, which I recommend as each lesson builds on the lesson before and is an excellent sequence of lessons.
