KINDERGARTEN NUMBER RECOGNITION GAMES INCLUDED:
-"MONSTER SNATCH" GAME
*Recognizing numbers 11-25*
1. Put the numbers in a bucket.
2. At random, have student pull out a number from the bucket and read it.
3. If student pulls out the monster” SNATCH!” card, then
the student will put all of their cards back in the bucket.
4. The player who has the most cards wins!
*Have students put numbers in sequential order

"BUCKET OF FUN" Game
-Recognizing numbers 11-25*
1. Put the numbers in a bucket.
2. At random, have student pull out a number from the bucket and read it.
3. (Extension) Have student write the number on dry erase board.
or
*Have students put numbers in sequential order

-"COVER THE NUMBER" GAME
1. Put the numbers in a bucket
2. Student 1 pulls out a number, reads it, and then places a chip over the number on the game board.
3. Whoever places the last number on the board wins!

"NUMBER NAME TAG" Game
1. Each student will receive a name tag
with a“Number Name.”
2. Tape the students “Number Name” to their shirts
3. Students will walk around the room until the music stops.
4. Students will stop when the music stops and tell the student
closest to them their“Number Name.”
5. Students will use the recording sheet and trace the
“Number Name” of the person they just met with.
6. Repeat game until all of the numbers have been
crossed out on their recording sheet

Common Core
K 2.3 Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
K 4.a Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality. When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.

K. 5.5. Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1–20, count out that many objects.
