Number sandwiches is a task that allows students to select a number from 5-12 on a bread slice. Then find combinations of two cards that total that number. With the two cards students make a "sandwich" with the dot side out. When they have found several addition facts and created several sandwiches, the next challenge is to look at the bread slice with the number on it (5) and name the number that makes up that total or sum on the other side of "slice" with the dots side facing them. Then they turn over the slice to confirm their prediction. The same pairs can be used again to name the hidden part. Please be kind enough to give me a rating and feedback. I appreciate your stopping by!
