In this activity students will find the lateral area and surface area of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres.
Just working problems from a simple worksheet becomes redundant for students. Also, so much time is spent the next class period checking the sheets for accuracy. In this activity students will solve problems and then they will do a number search activity to see if they can find their answer. If their answer cannot be found they will know that they didn't work the problem correctly and they will have the opportunity to do it again. This will cut down on the number of questions concerning homework answers the next class period.
