Number Sense activity
These Number Sense mini-books will help your students' number sense and to understand the facts that make up a Fact Family and Number Bond using these Story of... Books. The CCSS expect students to move from a concrete representation of numbers, to a pictorial representation using pictures, and lastly to an abstract representation with numbers.
This activity is taking the students through all three steps to see how they each relate to each other. This activity is aligned with the CCSS for Grade 1 (1.OA.6) and Grade 2 (2.OA.2). You can also use this activity for third graders who are struggling with number facts, fact families and decomposing numbers.
These mini-books are also being sold as separate files. Each file is $2.00. If you purchase this BUNDLE you will save a bundle!! This kit is $8.00, which will save you $4.00 if you bought the files separately!!
Included in this download is:
1. The Story of 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, & 10 Mini-Books with detailed directions on assembly.
2. A Ten Frame that can be photocopied for each child to use. I included two tens frames on the sheet to conserve paper. Print out the Ten Frame on a thicker cardstock and cut it down the middle. You can laminate each Ten Frame for durability to last for many years.
3. If you do not want the Mini-Book cover to print in color, just print in grayscale or use a photocopier.
I hope your students enjoy this activity as much as mine did :)
