Comparing Two Digit Numbers A Dog's Life Task Card Activity

This is a dog themed small group task card math activity with a twist, for practicing or reviewing comparing two-digit numbers; perfect for first grade or the beginning of second grade. This resource includes one set of 24 task cards, in color and black/ gray/ white. Students compare the two numbers and write the symbol on their recording sheets. The task card set includes three copies of eight different kids images of a dog’s life. Students pick a card and find the matching image on their recording sheet. They write the symbol to compare their two numbers. Who can be the first to color all eight images? There is one recording sheet along with an answer key, in black/ white or red. I have also included a comparison mat to be used with base ten blocks and a comparison sheet for quick draws, in color and black/ gray/ white, to provide support for student learning. This activity is ideal for intervention or resource groups as well as independent math centers.

Count By Merry Monsters Task Card Activity

This is a monster themed small group task card math activity with a twist, for practicing or reviewing counting by ones, twos, fives, tens, and backward from 30; perfect for first or second grade. This resource includes a set of 24 task cards, in two versions. One version has numbers only. Your students need to determine the pattern and then extend the sequence. The other set provides directions (i.e. Count by fives). The task cards include number sequences to 100. There is a set of four additional task cards with number sequences to 120. These four cards can be substituted for ones in the main set. Each set is in color and black/ gray/ white. Each set includes three copies of eight different monster images. Students pick a card and find the matching image on their recording sheet. They write the three numbers that come next and color the image. Who can be the first to color all eight images? There is one recording sheet with two answer keys; one to 100, the other to 120. The answers keys are in black/ white or red. A highlighted one hundred chart and 120 chart, in color and black/ gray/white are also included to support student learning. This activity is ideal for intervention or resource groups as well as independent math centers.

There is also a set of four additional task cards with numbers to 120. These four cards can be substituted for ones in the main set. Each set is in color and black/ gray/ white. Students pick a card, find the matching image on their recording sheet, and write their response. Who can be the first to color all eight images?
