If your students need practice with number strings, you will really enjoy this game. Formatted in a "Simon Says" way, Super Simon asks students to build a number string containing 3-4 numbers. Be careful though, you can only add numbers that "Simon" tells you to. It is as much a listening game as it is an Operations of Algebraic Thinking game.
There are 3 levels of difficulty for students. Each level contains 8 cards that will ask the student to think about ways of connecting numbers. It will encourage them to think about adding with ways to make 10, doubles, and near doubles. The goal is to develop a strategy for solving addition equations and being able to use mathematical language to explain their thinking.
I hope your students will enjoy this game as much as my students have. As always, I have included blank cards so that you can create more cards at each level.
